Euro Remains Under Pressure
The euro (EUR) dropped to a two year low falling to 1.2515 from 1.2619 against the US dollar as uncertainty in the market grows. The single currency is under pressure as investors are worried about a problematic banking sector in the eurozone and a messy Greek exit from the euro. Economic figures from Germany further weighed on sentiment after German manufacturing data was weaker than expected. Failure by EU leaders to take decisive steps to tackle the eurozone debt crisis has curbed risk appetite, while growth in the region appears to be deteriorating. Against the Swiss franc, the single currency spiked higher to 1.2075 on rumors that the Swiss National Bank will impose a tax on deposits.

Japan Policy On Hold, Eyes On BoE Minutes
The euro (EUR) dropped near a 21-month low falling to 1.2645 from 1.2814 against the US dollar as risk aversion dominates the markets. Comments from former Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos raised concerns after he said that Greece has two options, stick to a painful austerity program or face a damaging default and a messy exit from the eurozone. Focus now turns to today’s informal EU summit where France is expected to push a proposal of joint eurozone bonds. The idea of joint bonds can help with funding difficulties for some heavily-indebted eurozone countries but that policy has been rejected by Germany before. EU leaders are also expected to focus more on growth and ways to help Greece stay in the euro.

Today`s U.K. data showed that CPI for the year ended April retreated again to 3.0%, below forecasts of 3.1%, from the prior reading of 3.5%, hitting the government`s upper limit for the first time since February 2010.
The drop was triggered by the Easter holiday and prices changes in the transport, alcohol and clothing categories.
Yet, on the monthly basis the reading showed a rise to 0.6% from 0.3%.
Other inflation gages showed a drop also as retail price index slipped to 3.5% on the annual basis from 3.6% while surged to 0.7% from 0.4% on the month.

Euro Rebounds, Focus On The UK Inflation
The euro (EUR) edged higher to 1.2824 rebounding from 1.2724 against the US dollar on hopes that EU leaders will agree on steps to fight the debt crisis in Europe. Investors expect the French President Francois Hollande to suggest joint eurozone bonds at the EU meeting in Brussels on May 23. The idea of joint bonds can help with funding difficulties for some heavily-indebted eurozone countries but that policy has been rejected by Germany before. EU leaders are also expected to focus more on growth and ways to help Greece stay in the euro. The single currency remains under pressure as the market is worried about Spain’s growing financial problems as well as developments in Greece ahead of a repeat election in June.

Euro Rebounds But Still Under Pressure
The euro (EUR) edged higher to 1.2812 rebounding from a four-month low at 1.2641 against the US dollar. The single currency tumbled on Friday on concerns over Greece’s political uncertainty as well as growing instability in the Spanish banking sector. European leaders of G8 met during the weekend to discuss steps needed to fight Europe’s debt crisis and reaffirmed the importance that Greece remains in the eurozone. G8 leaders also focused on ways to stimulate eurozone growth but no detailed plans on how to resolve the problems were announced. But the single currency remains under pressure as investors are worried about a messy Greek default and exit from the euro ahead of a repeat election in June 17.

Majors climb to session highs against greenback
With the lack of market thrillers, risky assets rebound on a normal pullback after the recent savage selloff looking with an eye of hope towards the world’s leaders meeting (G8) today.
Markets woke up on sharp selloff with the start of the trading session, where majors printed new lows against the greenback before rebounding. The EUR/USD reached 1.2640 just above 2012 low at 1.2621, currently baring earlier losses trading around 1.2713. Stochastic has provided an early sign of recovery in the form of a bullish divergence and currently regaining the bullish momentum. However the upside remains limited as markets jitters are far from over. Thus 1.2660 should form an intraday ceiling today, as trading ranges will get thinner approaching the weekend.

Greece Fears Pressure, BoE Cuts Growth Forecast
Greece Fears Pressure, BoE Cuts Growth Forecast
The euro (EUR) recovered a little yesterday against the dollar edging higher to 1.2758 from 1.2681 as risk sentiment in the market improved slightly. Investors remain worried about Greece's ability to avoid bankruptcy and stay in the euro ahead of Greece's second election. Greece put a senior judge Panagiotis Pikramenos to be the leader of the Greek caretaker government until election on June 17. The single currency may remain under pressure on fears that a Greek exit from the euro may have a serious impact on countries such as Spain, Italy and Portugal. Some Greek banks were moved to an emergency funding assistance program due to the deteriorating quality of their capital.

Greek Political Impasse Leads to Euro Losses
The euro started off yesterday's trading session on a positive note following a better than expected German Prelim GDP figure which caused the EUR/USD to advance to 1.2868. That being said, the common currency came under pressure later in the day following another failed attempt by Greek politicians to form a new government, virtually guaranteeing new elections will take place next month. As a result, the euro fell as low as $1.2769 during the afternoon sessoin. Turning to today, traders will want to pay attention to the US FOMC Meeting Minutes, set to be released at 18:00 GMT. Any signs that the Federal Reserve is preparing for another round of quantitative easing could result in the greenback turning bearish.
