The pair AUD/USD found support yesterday on 0.97 and is currently moving towards a pullback on 0.98 as resistance.
The pair is still moving below the lower band of its bearish channel (purple lines).
All indicators are bearish.
We continue to advise short positions as far as 0.9875 is resistance.
The breakout of 0.97 will give a new sell signal and open the way towards 0.96.
In case of return above 0.9875, we will wait the breakout of 0.9950 to advise long positons.

The breakout of 0.98 will give a new sell signal and open the way towards 0.97.

Germany To The Rescue?
This is the fifth day without a firm government in place for Greece; if a coalition is not found soon then we could be heading back to the polls, which open up the possibility of a prolonged period of Greek political instability. There was some hope this morning of the Conservatives forming a coalition with the Socialists and other moderate pro-bailout parties that would have a mandate to govern until 2014. This helped to lift the euro from its daily lows; however for a sustained rally in risk we need to get a firm commitment that a 'moderate' pro-European government will take the reins of power in Athens. Unless that happens then the markets are likely to remain jittery.

Commentary of the AUD/USD parity:
The pair AUD/USD found support yesterday on 1.0050 and just made a pullback on the upper band of its bearish channel (purple lines).
The pair is currently trying to make a return above 1.01.
All indicators are still bearish.
We continue to advise short positions as far as 1.0150 is resistance.
A return below 1.01 will comfort our bearish feeling.
The breakout of 1.0050 will give a new sell signal and open the way towards 1.0.
In case of return above 1.0150, we will wait the breakout of 1.02 to advise long positons.

Spain's credit rating was lowered by Standard & Poor's for a second time in 2012 on enduring worries the nation will have to apply additional fiscal backing to lenders as the economy shrinks. S&P cut its long term grade for Spain from A to BBB+ adding a negative outlook. Country's short term rating was lowered from A-1 to A-2, S&P agency reported on Thursday.

Crude oil price declined from almost 4-week high in New York trade after S&P ratings agency cut Spain's sovereign credit rating, boosting concerns that further recession in Europe may halt demand for crude. Oil to be delivered in June lost USD 0.61, reaching USD 103.94 a barrel. June Brent oil gave up USD 0.49 and traded at USD 119.43 a barrel.

Deutsche Bank, the German biggest lender posted a 33% drop in its first quarter profit, citing debt crisis as a negative force that curbed trading. Net income declined to EUR 1.38 billion (USD 1.82 billion) compared to EUR 2.06 billion in the same period last year. Economists questioned by Bloomberg expected the profit to decrease less to EUR 1.56 billion. Deutsche Bank shares have added 16% this year.
