Global stocks, euro fall on Greece exit worries
(Reuters) - World stocks skidded and the euro fell to a 21-month low on Wednesday on worries about Greece's possible exit from the euro zone, which threatened to deepen the region's debt crisis and hurt an already fragile global recovery.
Nervous investors piled into low-risk U.S. and German government debt, sending their yields lower. The dollar also was favored as a safe haven by investors.
Each euro zone country will have to prepare a contingency plan for the possibility of Greece's leaving the bloc, three euro zone sources told Reuters, citing an agreement reached by officials.

New home sales, prices rise in April
(Reuters) - New single-family home sales rose solidly in April and prices pushed higher, offering further evidence the housing market was turning the corner.
The Commerce Department said on Wednesday sales increased 3.3 percent to a seasonally adjusted 343,000-unit annual rate after a 332,000-unit pace in March.
The report, whose details were fairly bullish, came on the heels of news on Tuesday that home resales hit a two-year high in April and suggested the housing market recovery was gaining traction.
It also highlighted the economy's underlying strength, even though job growth has slowed in recent months. The weak housing market had been the Achilles heel of the economy's recovery from the 2007-09 recession.
"It's encouraging. These are signs that we might be forming a bottom in ...

During a teleconference earlier today, the Eurogroup Working Group (EWG); which consists of the officials preparing the meetings of finance minister, and form the board of the ESF as well, agreed that euro zone countries must consider and prepare for the consequences of a Greece exit. The move could have further negative impact on the common currency.
While Later today, the finance ministers are expected to unveil ...
